Stupid Simple Socials Module

Stupid Simple Socials is a free module extension for Joomla 4. It displays social sharing buttons for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Linkedin. You can customize which networks get displayed and put it wherever you want.

Preview: Just look at the icons under "Share This Guide". That's what it looks like. I use it for all the articles on this website. It should be displayed to the right of this article on desktops, or at the bottom of this page on mobile.

It should look the same on your site, unless your template does something odd to it.

  • Features
    • Easy to install and configure
    • Free, licensed under MIT
    • Mobile friendly
    • No backlinks to developer

Instructions: Just download and install the extension. Then publish the module to an appropriate position, usually in the sidebar, or above or below your main content.

How it works: This module just uses the share APIs from the social networks and passes along a URL containing the page the user is currently on. Note that it uses FontAwesome to load the icon for LinkedIn, so if you don't have FontAwesome the share icon for LinkedIn might look odd.

Don't be surprised if the buttons take a second to pop up, this is normal, as it has to load the resources from the social networks sharing APIs.

Suggestion: Combine with TAGz Open Graph extension, or another open graph plugin, to generate proper social network metadata.

Support: If you need help, just leave a comment below. If you like, consider donating ten bucks.
